Chicago Auction Marketplace (“Chicago Auction,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates chicagobid.com, including the General Marketplace and Auto Auction services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

We may collect information that you provide, including your name, email address, telephone number, mailing or pickup address, account credentials, seller or dealer information, listings, photographs, bids, offers, transaction details, verification information, and messages sent to us.

3. How we use information
- Create, authenticate, and secure user, seller, bidder, dealer, and administrator accounts.

- Process payments, fees, refunds, and related transaction records.

4. Service providers and disclosures

These currently may include Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Google or another SMTP provider, and Resend. Payment-card information is handled by the payment provider and is not intended to be stored directly by Chicago Auction.
Listing details, seller display names, pickup locations, bid amounts, listing age, view totals, and bid totals may be visible to other users. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, during a business transaction, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information for money.
5. Google user data
If you connect a Google service or use Google authentication, we use Google-provided account data only to provide the requested authentication or communication functionality. We do not use Google user data for advertising. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
6. Cookies and local storage
We and our providers use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect accounts, support payments, measure service operation, and prevent abuse. Blocking these technologies may prevent account or auction features from working.
7. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain auction and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

You may ask us to correct or delete eligible personal information, obtain information about our handling of your data, or withdraw optional communications by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity, and some auction, payment, fraud-prevention, or legal records may need to be retained.

The service is not directed to children under 13, and users must be legally able to participate in the applicable auction or transaction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
